Noi tutti siamo umani, e, in quanto tali, possiamo sbagliare. Il problema non è l’errore, ma cosa ne facciamo dell’errore.
Possiamo pensarci e ripensarci, amplificando la brutta sensazione che ne deriva e minando la fiducia in noi stessi, oppure lo possiamo usare per crescere e migliorare.
I campioni, i numeri1 adottano la seconda opzione.
Infatti sanno che, rimanere focalizzati sull’ errore durante una performance, spesso porta a commetterne un’altro, anche maggiore. Quindi, meglio smettere di rimanere a fissare lo specchio retrovisore e andare avanti.
Un semplice esercizio, adottato da chi gareggia all’aperto, consiste nel prendere qualche filo d’erba, guardarlo come se si trattasse dell’errore, gettare l’erba alle spalle e rifocalizzarsi sull’azione del momento.
In mancanza dei fili d’ erba, puoi usare la tua creatività per adattare l’esercizio.
Solo alla fine della tua performance ti fermerai a fare un’analisi, chiedendoti che lezione puoi trarre dall’errore fatto, quale capacità puoi implementare, cos’altro puoi fare, come metterai in pratica la lezione.

Here is an easy exercise, adopted by those who compete outdoors, for symbolically letting go the mistake: pick up a blade of grass, look at it as if it were the actual mistake, throw the grass behind you and refocus on the purpose at hand.
Use your creativity to adapt the exercise, if there is no grass.
At the end of your performance you can analyze the mistake, asking yourself what lessons can be drawn from it, what ability you can implement, what else can you do, how to put into practice the lesson acquired.
